The world of tea, and the exotic places where it is grown combine to create an ambience comparable to no other experience.
Yes it is true, the U.S. no longer regulates tea through tea tasting. The last official government tea taster was repealed in 1996. Evidently the U.S. recognizes the British are not going to send us an off tasting Oolong. Here's the official word.

How tea is produced
Tea bushes are planted in rows on special tea farms. The best tea comes from sunny mountain slopes where there is lots of rain and the air is cool, but not frosty. This makes the tea bush grow slowly and produce more flavor. After the leaves have been picked by tea-pluckers or machines, they are taken to the factory. How they are treated there determines which of the three main types of tea the leaves will become. Learn more here.
